His Highness Sheikh Saud believes that safety, security and justice are fundamental to a prosperous society and has worked closely with the police and courts in the Emirate to develop strategic objectives that ensure that the people of Ras Al Khaimah feel at ease in their environment.

His Highness Sheikh Saud has implemented policies that have resulted in Ras Al Khaimah becoming an extremely safe place to live, with a ‘very high’ Safety Index rating of 83.8 on Numbeo, the online global database of quality-of-life data.
Judiciary and Governance
His Highness Sheikh Saud has long affirmed the importance of good governance, the rule of law and the independence of juducial institutions across the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Accordingly, RAK Courts is independent from the executive and legislative branches of the government, is transparent in its processes and is free from any external influence or interference, in accordance with the UAE constitution. Access to justice is also a cornerstone of the Emirate’s approach, to safeguard the right for all individuals to seek and obtain a fair resolution of their legal disputes, including provisions for legal aid and representation. His Highness also works to ensure that Ras Al Khaimah Government is efficient, transparent and accountable, placing great emphasis on operational excellence across departments. He champions efficient governance as a foundation for peace and prosperity, with a focus on clear policy-making, strong institutions and service delivery, to create an environment where economic growth, social development and environmental sustainability can thrive.
Innovation and digitalization
RAK Courts is utilizing digitalization and innovation to improve procedures and ensure transparency. It was the first court in the UAE to develop a One-Day Court, handling minor cases in as little as 30 minutes, and its Customer Happiness Charter was devised as part of the Courts’ commitment to the provision of high-quality and transparent services to the public.
